It's been hard to pursue ANYTHING this year with EVERYTHING that has been going on in 2020. So how do you make sure you're making moves towards what you want no matter what?
Most people wait for something to happen before they commit to what they want. The commitment is the hardest part for most people to give in to.
How in the world can you be ready for your opportunity if you don’t commit to the work and work as if you’ve already achieved it? It’s a tough question, I know - but what if you just went for it and stopped hoping?
The best way to be ready for your opportunity is to:
1 - Work as if you’re where you want to be. You have to make moves as if you’re where you want to be. If you’re wanting to build your own business but you’re still making decisions like an employee, then you’re not working as if you’re where you want to be.
Shift your thoughts to the space of where you want to be and work in that space ONLY. You cannot get to where you want to be if you’re mentally stuck in the now.
2 - STAY URGENT. There’s NO WAY IN HELL that you can be ready for anything if you’re not urgent. Most people act like they have all the time in the world. They act like things will be easy to attain WHEN THEY’RE READY to go get them.
I bet you that most people didn’t think we’d be in quarantine for two plus months. I bet you most people didn’t anticipate that the economy would go into a tailspin and that their way of doing things would be altered forever.
The ones who stayed urgent were ready for ANYTHING. YES - ANYTHING.
Here’s the deal: when you work as if ANYTHING could happen, you get ridiculously urgent to attain your goals. There’s no such thing as waiting to do something or hoping that something will work in your favor. There’s being all-in to make something happen and to do the work that’s necessary - RIGHT. NOW.
3 - Stay disciplined - this creates muscle memory. This quarantine period has shown the importance of being disciplined even when you’re not working. Most people have fallen into a deadly routine of doing what they want when they want and have not gotten anything done.
This is extremely important to pay attention to. If you have fallen out of a routine and you feel out of sorts, it’s time to get back into the rotation. Because how you respond when no one’s watching or when no one’s constantly hounding you is THE TRUE YOU.
Staying on your schedule, EVEN IF YOU’RE NOT WORKING, is essential to keeping you IN THE GAME and not sliding off course.
If you want to stay in the game, STAY DISCIPLINED.
4 - Acquire more knowledge and increase your self-development. Self-development is crucial to increasing your knowledge and skillset. You can’t want to move up in the rankings but you’re not willing to work on yourself.
Read books
Take workshops
Get into free college online courses (going on right now)
Listen to podcasts that are in your field
Play brain games and increase goal setting and meditation or visual goal process (vision board).
Get coaching or a mentor
This is THE PERFECT TIME to increase your knowledge. There’s a lot of down time and it can be used to help you get ahead of everyone if you use it wisely.
5 - Don’t look for help, look to add value. Most people are looking for someone to help them as opposed to looking to add value to someone. The best way to get something is to give something first. Most people don’t like the idea of this because most people want something before they give ANYTHING.
You have to learn to give before you receive. Look to add value in your workplace or in a new area of employment so you can become indispensable.
Don’t wait for the government to save you. They won’t. Start working in your blessing RIGHT NOW! Don’t wait! TAKE. URGENT. ACTION!
Stay positive,
Fred
